If we let cops raid your home because they claim they can identify intoxication by illegal substance without actual seeing any illegal substance or use of that substance, then the #4thA is dead in America. Imagine what the FBI would do with that: "your tweets, Mr. Jones, proved illegal substance use, and we must now raid your house. Trust us; we're experts on such matters."
@barnes_law We also discounted the officers experience with identifying intoxicated people. I believe a judge would accept that all together as probable cause. However, still think it is weak, but doubt it will be tossed.
I see some folks saying any report of child neglect is probable cause to raid your house. In NYC, they studied how often reports of child neglect turned out to be true. Turned out 96% of complaints were false. This is why that never suffices for #4thA sufficient probable cause.
