This week’s #52Franks is in honor of Mike Ploog, who has a birthday this week. Artist on one of my favorite books ever, Monster of Frankenstein. Fun fact I didn’t know until this week, Mike was born in Mankato, Minnesota
Busy week so totally forgot to post week 24 of #52Franks. Didn’t have a ton of time so I fell back on old reliable Boris. Quick and loose and felt it lived better as just pencils so left it as is.
Week 22 of #52Franks is a day early. Schedule has been a bit crazy so getting it in where I can fit it in. This weeks monster is based off the 1957 Drive In flick, I was A Teenage Frankenstein. A really goofy good film that is worth checking out if you can find it.
Week 22 of #52Franks is a super quick one. Been crazy busy lately and just don’t have much time to do much more than this. Hopefully next week we can do something a little better.
Week 21 of #52Franks is from Frankenstein’s Daughter from 1958. This movie is goofy dumb fun and just a little over an hour. Pretty sure it’s on YouTube so throw it on some time.
Week 20 of #52Franks is the design from the 2004 film, Van Helsing. A disappointing movie but thought some of the character concepts were fun.
Week 17 of #52Franks is The Bride, in honor of the 89th anniversary of the release of Bride of Frankenstein this month. 89 years old and still one of the best films ever made. Impressive.
@artofmmignola @ChristophGolden @BenStenbeck It’s week 15 of #52Franks and it’s a travel week. Really just put pen to paper and made this one up on the fly and I gotta be honest- it’s one of my favorites so far.
@artofmmignola @ChristophGolden @BenStenbeck Week 15 of #52Franks is Tom Noonan’s portrayal of the character from the 1980’s film, #TheMonsterSquad . This movie was repeated viewing for me as a kid.
Week 13 of #52Franks is based off the Frankenstein series of comics from @artofmmignola @ChristophGolden and @BenStenbeck . Really love the look of this version of the monster. The big bolts are great.
It’s week nine of #52Franks, and this week we have Prize Comics version of The Monster by creator, Dick Briefer. These comics are right up there with the Dell version from last week that are wonderfully off beat and bizarre. Worth checking out if you can find them.
Week eight of #52Franks is Dell Comics Superheo take on Frankenstein. This is a short bonkers and really fun take on the character. They even did this for Dracula and the Wolf-Man. I’ll be honest it’s a bucket list gig to work on these takes on the character some day.
This week’s #52franks is based off of David Prowse as the monster in Hammer Studio’s Horror of Frankenstein. Probably the first Frankenstein film I remember seeing as a kid.
