Let’s read two quotes:
1️⃣ In November 2021, twenty months before #Banjska in north #Kosovo happened, then 🇷🇸 interior minister, Aleksandar #Vulin, explained:
“Neither President Vučić nor I are preparing or looking for Russian volunteers. If 🇷🇸 wants to return by force to both the north and the south of Kosovo and Metohija, it would not need Russians or any other foreigners, Serbs born in Kosovo are enough […] The Gendarmerie is ready, trained, technically equipped, but most importantly highly motivated, to defend its people wherever necessary.”
2️⃣ On 7 January 2024, in his Christmas interview, President #Vučić while complaining about lack of soldiers in the 🇷🇸 Armed Forces admitted:
“You see, these guys that came with me [pointing with his finger behind the camera]. These are great guys. They belong to Cobras [🇷🇸 Special Military Police Unit]. They have high income and they are satisfied. I am very proud - and I have to say that here - next to the 63rd Parachute Brigade that had 98% - they [Cobras] responded 100% to a call by the state when they needed to and when they thought to go to Kosovo. 100%. Without a single decline. Whenever there is a crisis in the south of Serbia, we have 3% of soldiers who go on a leave. All their lives we train and educate them, all their lives we pay them so that one time they would serve their country. But as soon as there is crisis, three percent of them go on a leave … but I am proud of these people. 97% of them is always ready to defend their country. In my surrounding, the [Cobra] Unit that is always with me, all of them, 100%, reported to duty to protect our people in Kosovo and Metohija. 100%. Without a single decline or single one going on a leave. Those are [real] soldiers. Those are people we can rely on.”
