जैसा वादा किया था, आइए आज चर्चा करें कि दिल्ली में पिछले 10 वर्षों में लागू किए गए शैक्षिक सुधारों की तर्ज़ पर भारत की शिक्षा व्यवस्था को कैसे बदला जा सकता है।
जब हमने दिल्ली में शुरुआत की, तो हमारे सामने एक बहुत बड़ा काम था- वर्षों की उपेक्षा और ग़लत प्राथमिकताओं ने दिल्ली की शिक्षा व्यवस्था को लगभग खंडहर बना दिया था। ठीक वैसा ही हाल आज हमें देश के बहुत से हिस्सों में देखने को मिलता है।
हमें शुरू से ही समझ आ गया था कि सिर्फ इमारतें सुधारने से बदलाव नहीं आएगा। हमने बुनियादी ढांचा सुधारा, लेकिन उसके साथ-साथ हमने टीचर्स ट्रेनिंग पर ज़ोर दिया, छात्रों में आत्मविश्वास जगाने के लिए हैप्पीनेस करिकुलम, बिज़नेस ब्लास्टर्स जैसे नए कोर्स शुरू किए। और उनके नतीजे भी निकले। बात सिर्फ़ बोर्ड के नतीजों के 83% से 99% पहुँच जाने की नहीं है। इन सब प्रयासों की बदौलत बच्चे NEET और JEE जैसे Exam पास करने लगे। दुनिया की best यूनिवर्सिटी में पढ़ने का मौक़ा तलाशने लगे । बड़े बड़े बिज़नेस आइडियाज़ पर काम करने लगे।
दुख होता है जब हम देखते हैं कि आज भी भारत के लाखों बच्चे एक ऐसी टूटी-फूटी शिक्षा व्यवस्था का शिकार हैं, जबकि बदलाव मुमकिन है। भारत सदियों से ज्ञान की धरती रहा है — ऐसे में आज की स्थिति विडंबना नहीं तो और क्या है?
जब हम दुनिया की तरफ़ देखते हैं, खासकर पश्चिमी देशों की ओर, तो साफ़ नज़र आता है कि उन्होंने कैसे अपनी शिक्षा व्यवस्था को मज़बूत बनाया और आगे बढ़े।
दिल्ली में शिक्षा मंत्री के रूप में मेरे वर्षों के अनुभव ने मुझे सिखाया है कि सुनियोजित योजना और लगातार प्रयास ही बदलाव की कुंजी हैं।
