Republicans in Maine rejected a bill this year that would have required a waiting period for firearm purchases.
They seriously could not fathom waiting 72 hours to buy a gun.
Maine also does not…
- Ban assault weapons
- Require permits to carry a gun in public
- Require background checks on all gun sales

Dems on the Public Unsafety Committee killed @billessayli's bill to restore sentencing enhancements for criminals who use guns to commit felonies.
Apparently guns are bad, unless you use them to commit crimes.
The Assembly's "public safety" committee not only did not pass the bill #AB328 but voted not to bring it up for reconsideration. Absolutely pathetic from the committee. Thank you, Assemblyman Essayli, for taking a stand for victims, for law enforcement, and for TRUE public safety
