Let's celebrate #BABSCon2025
At Costume-Con, #aBearsPicnic will be Fri/Sat/Sun, room 251. Starting 8pm-ish, or whenever I turn on the party lights around the door.
Friday, @dragonmarsh Apothecary & Teas will be serving tea and shortbread.
Saturday, I'll open up after the F&SF Masquerade.
#aBearsPicnic at @AnimeBanzai has an extensive selection of non-alcoholic drinks. These are the self-serve options. We also have mac & cheese, KBBQ meatballs, veg/dip, cheese & crackers, a small list of cocktails, and ribbons. In the con hotel, room 221, opening tonight 8:00-ish.
Last night #aBearsPicnic had about 83 @BABSCon visitors. We ran out of meatballs before midnight, so I'll make a double batch tonight. The mac&cheese was a hit too.
@PrincessSquib, we have the Non-Dairy Oat Beverage for lactose-free Cheeky Monkey. See you at rm.2021!

I made two gallons of lemonade tonight for #aBearsPicnic, my party at @BABSCon. I'm flavoring some of it with raspberry & strawberry @Torani syrups, for Pink Lemonade. I've also brewed a gallon or two of iced tea. Everything else, I'll mix up on site or buy locally. #BABS2022
@SuperPonyBolt @PrincessSquib @BABSCon This is "A Bear's Picnic," which has never been at @BABSCon before. I've attended before, but not hosted #aBearsPicnic.

@PrincessSquib, I'll look into the oat milk thing!
I looked at what I'm bringing for my @BABScon party. There are a few drinks that I can serve that didn't make the cut for the printed menu.
So I've decided to have a Secret Menu of 4 extra drinks (2 cocktails, 2 mocktails). The menu lists a web URL...

Working on my drinks menu for #aBearsPicnic at #BABS2022. Here's the current version. Looking forward to hosting a room party at @BABSCon next week!
A Bearโs Speakeasy is in room 1726, at the sign of the bear. We have lights strung around the door, which is important because itโs in the darkest corner of a long, straight hall. When you find us, just push the door open and come on in.

I printed some things using art commissioned from @TheArgoNinja, @kaiju_JUNGLE, @Ceruleanfox27, @MagumaUsagi and Kyler Pinkowsky. They're all coaster-shaped cards, with room on the back for me to scrawl a room number.

Considering future travel, for #aBearsPicnic at s.f. or anime cons. What do I want in an out-of-state convention trip? A generous amount of vacation time, friends or relations in the area, a Trader Joe's, @TotalWine, @SmartFinal / Gordon Food Service or equivalent. What else...
Latest art for #aBearsPicnic, by the skilled artist @Ceruleanfox27. I'm thinking of getting it printed on little square cards -- or maybe coasters?

So I'm looking at my #cocktail recipes for possible future testings, which includes different "Hurricane" recipes. A Hurricane is a strong, tasty rum drink. I'm wondering, is there a "Tornado" cocktail out there?

(I don't know how to add descriptive text to say "This is a drawing of a cartoon bear bartending at a bar.")

(As you probably have seen, Twitter crops square images down to a rectangle.)
In the Orange County area, or want to come down next weekend? You can help taste-test some cocktail recipes that I'm considering for my next parties. We'll have pizza, too.
