ADAFEST 2025: A Historic Celebration of Adamawa's Rich Ethnic Diversity
The publicity committee for Adamawa State’s 2025 Cultural Festival, tagged #ADAFEST, recently embarked on a courtesy visit to local media stations within the state. The committee is working to ensure a successful event that will celebrate over one hundred ethnic nationalities from Adamawa, coming together for the first time to deliver an extraordinary cultural display.
During the visit, Padio Phenias, speaking on behalf of Dr. John Ngamsa, the Special Adviser on Information, Communication, and Strategy, highlighted the significance of media collaboration. He emphasized that the involvement of media outlets is crucial to achieving the festival’s goals, particularly in showcasing Adamawa's rich cultural heritage.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the leadership of Hon. Commissioner Aloysius Babadoke, the highly anticipated festival will take place from April 25 to April 29, 2025, at Mahmud Ribadu Square in Jimeta, Yola, Adamawa State. Phineas emphasized that this event will not only showcase the rich and diverse cultures of Adamawa but also aim to establish the state as the global capital of cultural heritage.
Additionally, a special compendium will be produced at the end of the week-long event to serve as a valuable resource for future research and cultural preservation.
In separate statements, the General Managers of ATV Yola, Gotel TV, Fombina, and NASS FM praised the timing and positive impact of the event. They commended the initiative, noting that it presents a unique opportunity for the people of Adamawa to unite and showcase their cultural richness.
They also expressed their gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support and vision, promising to use the media’s reach to ensure grassroots involvement and widespread participation in the festival.
