@ERCOT_ISO today approved #DERS in the #Texas #ADERpilot to provide a new #ancillaryservice for #gridsupport that is incredibly valuable for #Texas #gridreliability: #ECRS. #ECRS is a shorter duration (2 hour) service that fits the profile of residential batteries better than #nonspin (4 hour) which is the only service #VPP batteries could currently provide in Texas; the change will make it easier to get new market entry for #VPP #batteries like #Powerwall paired with solar and backup generators like @EnchantedRock systems. We have advocated for this change for months and are thrilled to see it become real, thanks to the #ADERTaskForce, @PUCTX, and @ERCOT_ISO collaboration. Every single market design improvement we effectuate in @Texas is a new gold standard for #DERgridsupport for the world to be paying attention to. Thanks to our #energySWATteam at @teslaenergy and leadership of @JasonRyanTexas at @CenterPoint to carry this through as #taskforcechair. @Tesla @teslaenergy #txlege #powerwall #teslaelectric @ENERGY @JigarShahDC @douglewinenergy @GailAlfarATX #distributedenergy @DERtaskforce @allisonwannop @BrosForDecarb @AEMO_Energy

Oh, and the combination of sheer will, focus, and progress $tsla and specifically the #teslaelectric team pioneered at the ground level is also the catalyst for new #energypolicy in #Texas to open up the #texasgrid for more support from #DERs sited at residential premises soon via #ECRS, a contingency Electricity service that the grid operator calls on to keep the grid stable and capable of providing the power that people need. #txlege @ERCOT_ISO @EnergyDereg #ADER #ADERTaskForce https://t.co/OELC2clLBr
