Il #21marzo 1846 #AdolpheSax chiede di brevettare un suo nuovo strumento, il #sassofono: avverrà il 22/6. A metà degli anni '40 dell'800 aveva combinato l'ancia singola e il bocchino del clarinetto con la canna conica allargata di un oboe. I suoi primi sassofoni erano di legno.
Il 7 febbraio del 1894 moriva Antoine-Joseph "Adolphe" #sax , inventore e musicista belga che creò il sassofono nel 1840, brevettandolo nel 1846.
