If placing an underlay mesh or performing a bridged repair, biologic meshes will fail better than a permanent synthetic material (in particular PTFE, microporous polypropylene, Vicryl, or polyester). #AHSJC

While I prefer retromuscular mesh and that’s what we did in this trial, it shouldn’t be understated that NO high quality data suggests IP coated PP mesh wouldn’t hold up in contamination. That should be studied…#AHSJC
