Picked up this attachable cup holder at a Goodwill and it’s been a helpful way to promote independence so a student can be mobile yet still have easy access to a ball. I didn’t try it with anything heavy but for lighter balls it’s worked great on handles!

I used a PVC pipe and taped 2 pool noodles to the bottom.

Added a long noodle to the stick blade and used a gator ball for passing with a partner.

This saved me in a pinch today so figured I’d share. If you want to use a larger ball on the tee but don’t have a batting tee insert (like the big bopper or a plunger), you can sacrifice a cone for the greater good and cut it so that it can cover another cone #AdaptedPE #APEhacks

I love a free hack & having tethered options in class. If you need a quick & efficient way to attach a ball so it slides, try a 🎾 or 🏸 canister. A TP roll was night my best moment 🥴 #APEhacks

#APEhacks Ss in my Autistic Support classes enjoy the not-so-safe sensory experience of letting their feet slide down the treadmill. I wrapped a resistance band around the handles and it applies enough pressure to prompt Ss to stay upright. Or use a pool noodle to tap #AdaptedPE
Another💰effective switch hack for Ss w/ multiple disabilities. This uses a motion sensor to turn on a device. Could see this activated by refined & unrefined motions from head to toe, a walker/wheelchair moving by, or an implement! #APEhacks #AdaptedPE

DIY Dollar Tree 🏀 nets that insert into the bleachers. Not that I dislike the typical hula hoop method, but I wanted something more visually appealing/realistic for my Ss since the traditional method can be a little abstract for some of them. Cheap fix 👏🏼 #AdaptedPE #APEhacks

If you’re not passing through the pet aisle while shopping you’re missing out on some great pieces of equipment for APE (& PE). So many options for handles/grab tabs for Ss w/ limited fine motor/grasping skills and super low cost. #AdaptedPE #APEhacks
I don’t typically teach my APE Ss how to use a barbell in the weight room but this is a simple DIY barbell that uses deck rings as “plates” to give the experience of taking them on and off. Really just lifting for form and stacking those “plates” 💪🏼😆 #AdaptedPE #APEhacks
The fitness center is a great place to promote inclusion. Sometimes lack of hand/grip strength makes it hard to grasp handles. Here is something I use to help Ss participate in some of the same lifting activities.

Virtual content has slowed down for me, so figured I’d throw out some #APEhacks. I don’t really get $ for equip so we make do with what we have/is cost effective. Baseball tee tip: use (new🙃) plungers as a replacement to the BigBopper tee insert. Do you have any APE hacks?!
