1 - Less is more. Don’t overwhelm merchants with too much info at once.
2- Remove guesswork. Let merchants know how they’re progressing.
3 - Analyze. Track where problems occur during setup; find those pain points!

Good onboarding is all about *education*. Some apps might have more complex functionality than others, but something as simple as a tour of the app’s user interface does wonders for merchants to feel confident they’ve installed the right app. #AppReviewAMA

We totally get that your app might connect to multiple platforms, but Shopify merchants require Shopify specific instructions. What actions are required in a merchant’s admin for your app to function? Make them crystal clear 💎 #AppReviewAMA
If your app absolutely requires an account to be created, ask yourself “does this need to be the first step?”
Make sure to prefill fields and use store information you acquired during OAuth. #AppReviewAMA
After a merchant approves the installation using OAuth, apps must redirect to a functional app user interface. Ideally, this is the very 1st step of your app’s setup instructions. Show merchants what they need to do first to get up and running with your app! #AppReviewAMA
