Learning about capillary leak in cardiac surgery with Dr. Catherine Morgan. Challenging to assess microvascular fluid movement in kidneys, but certainly seen in the lungs! #ASPN18
Interestingly, Stage 2 AKI had a higher risk of mortality than single ventricle physiology. All associative data, challenging to assess causation but still... #ASPN18
Strong association between AKI and mortality in multiple studies, and growing evidence of kidney-heart interactions. Appears to be an additive risk. #ASPN18
