*Doesn’t want to change clothes for P.E.
*Depressed, anxious
*Eating disorders, preoccupation w/ body
*Decline in school performance
*Sleep disturbance, nightmares, bed wetting
*Sexual behavior/knowledge that is advanced/unusual

*Difficulty sitting, walking, bowel problems
*Torn, stained, bloody undergarments
*Genital bleeding, bruises, pain, swelling, itching

Abuse occurs at every socio-economic strata, across cultural lines, w/in all religions & levels of education. If one thinks “not in our school’s athletic program; not in this religious league & not on a team in this town” they contribute to a culture of denial. #ATHOGvirtual
Indicators of possible abuse in sports include (but are not limited to): missing practices, illness, loss of interest, withdrawal, suddenly secretive behavior and a child or young adult performing significantly below his/her abilities. #ATHOGvirtual
