The report highlights our decarbonisation #ActionAndProgress and is a formal call for action from our industry to policymakers around the world to increase their support.
Thomas Guillot, Chief Executive of the GCCA said: “This report shows several great examples of action that is already happening on the ground across the world, demonstrating that an acceleration of our #decarbonisation efforts is taking place today where enabling policies exist.
That’s why it’s important that we are in Baku at #COP29, calling on all policymakers, governments and anyone with a stake in the built environment to urgently work with us on our net zero mission.”

Our members are committed to #ActionAndProgress on #NetZero. The Asia Cement Corporation has been working on carbon reduction and environmental restoration. 🐛🦋🌱
In 2022 it saved 100,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions by reusing 400,000 tons of alternative raw materials and 30,000 tons of alternative fuels.
Since 1969, the Asia Cement ecological restoration team has been working on #biodiversity conservation, using innovative natural afforestation methods to promote greening of mine sites.

Our members are making #ActionAndProgress on #decarbonisation! CRH Companies Ergon and Prefaco teamed up to deliver Belgium’s first circular concrete elements for the ZIN Project in #Brussels. In total about 30% of the #concrete used in the structure came from recycled sources.♻️
30,000 tonnes of rubble from the demolished World Trade Centre was collected and processed into 3,500 tonnes of high-quality aggregates. These aggregates were then #recycled into the concrete elements used for the new ZIN building, including the floors, stairs, balconies and columns. 🏗️

Synhelion’s breakthrough solar concentration technology provides sufficient heat to produce clinker without using fossil fuels.
