I will always remember the last Wildrose Convention, the day of the deed. November 16, 2014 The Wildrose Party was in shambles. Two MLAs had already crossed to the PCs under Prentice. Joe Anglin had left to sit as an Independent. To this day, nobody gives a shit about Joe Anglin. I had mostly helped the Wildrose on electricity policy, but as we got closer to the election and things were falling apart, I was asked to stand for the Executive. I was VP of Something TBD. Not that it mattered, everything was about to fall apart. We had an executive meeting the Sunday after the convention. Danielle flitted in and out of the meeting. My understanding is that was the day Anderson and Saskiw pigeon holed Danielle and forced her to cross the floor. You have to have some sort of ego to say “Thanks for your support suckers. We’re all defecting.” Not much for brains though, as every last one of those people lost in the next election. It was a shit show. The WR executive was never consulted, never even advised. They just left like they owed nothing to the people who had worked for their election. These are the people that are now in charge of the UCP. I hope memories are long enough for people to remember those events. These people are in it for themselves, not you, not Alberta. They made that perfectly clear ten years ago.
