I've always admired #Alison_Rowat's arts writing for #Herald, but I've never been sure of her political orientation. Today's article, sadly, is a bit of an emotional ramble, lacking any coherence and, to my ears, a typically Scottish unionist ramble.

Some of the emotion of YES supporters has subsided today and realpolitik comes into play; The fingers-crossed-behind-back token politeness of unionists politicians has also vanished and the hostile prose of a few journalists spills out. Sad to see #Alison_Rowat among them ...

#Alison_Rowat #Herald "Mr Sunak tail2gated his way to No.10 jas Liz Truss did before him. "The one who led the way, who secured a large majority at a General Election, has never really left the building. #Mr_Johnson is the bad smell that no Number10 spray can eradicate.

#Alison_Rowat #Herald "Brown is also retired from day to day politics. He doesn’t have constituents to serve and represent" PM by default 2007-2010 as Labour Leader, rejected by electorate in 2010, MP till 2015, exited politics to make money, pops up talking bollox on media.

#Herald #Alison_Rowat Mr #Salmond was not present to respond, but there will come a Sunday, or another day, when he will have his say. #FM “From what I read on the committee’s website the one person who hasn’t put forward evidence to the inquiry yet is Mr Salmond himself.”

#Alison_Rowat #Herald [#Jackson_Carlaw] "was like the office temp who had unwisely picked up a ringing phone as he was passing. "Nothing had anything to do with Mr Carlaw, but he would take a message and make sure the right person received it once they returned from lunch."
