One year ago about 7am I trapped #alsonotmycat like a pokemon and carried him up to our spare room. He fought the cage, I apologised the whole way up and when I let him out he hissed at me then went as far away as he could. Would 100% do again and I think he's glad I did tooπ₯°
This time last year I was assembling a small kennel/kitty house for #alsonotmycat #brave LSK and hoping she(!) would agree to sleep in it as she wouldn't stay in the house long and I was worried about the weather getting colder. Early signs good, went straight to check it out.
Meanwhile, Neno has rolled in dirt, rolled the dirt into my trousers, and declared his day productive.

A big revelation from the vet trip was that 'she' was actually a 'he'! Just a very tiny, malnourished one. Probably only a year old
I won't lie: fostering #alsoNotMyCat after the vet trip was REALLY hard. There was pooping. There was hiding under the bed. There was a LOT of mess
Eventually, the lure of dreamies was even enough to tempt her to approach and eat from our hands.
The first time #alsoNotMyCat had dreamies she purred. And immediately jumped about 2ft in the air and ran away.
She scared herself by purring.
I don't mind saying that made me cry
I really, really can't overstate how terrified #alsoNotMyCat was of people. Again, we're not in the habit of feeding random cats (and you shouldn't be either) but she was so thin, and hungry that we put a plate down for her.
In late July last year we noticed he was a bit annoyed. It soon became clear why.
Another, much smaller cat was following him around, in obvious love and awe. We christened her #alsoNotMyCat
This was amusing. What WASN'T amusing was when we realised how ragged/hungry she looked
@ScobbieJames @garius Yes that's him. #notmycat is used to and very much demands the good things in life. Napoleon (#alsonotmycat) has needed time to adjust to them but is now a cautious fan of duvets and fish fingers.

@annanderson2012 @garius That one is #notmycat who belongs to the neighbours but nevertheless walks in like he owns the place. Napoleon aka #alsonotmycat was Brave Little Stray Kitty. You can't tell in this pic due to the angle but NMC has more white patches than Napoleon.

Demonstrated in this photo from the early days when LSK followed NMC into the house. Unfortunately NMC doesn't seem to be keen to share his 2nd home, despite LSK's lovely friendly personality.
Got to advertise around the area in case she is owned (100% believe she isn't but Cats Protection need to be absolutely sure before we spay her) and get a vet appointment booked, then ideally keep her in longer to get used to being a house cat #alsonotmycat #nearlymycat
Nerve-wracking day for me as a non-owner of cats as suddenly a lot is happening with #alsonotmycat aka brave LSK. Managed to make contact with local cats protection people last week (they are incredibly busy!) and hatched a plan to gradually try and trap her for a spaying appt.
And--astonishingly--a pecking order has emerged. For only about the second time, #Rufus has settled on my lap. He won't be outdone here... #alsonotmycat #notmycat
