SAVIOR-ASW is a next-generation autonomous naval platform designed to operate without a crew for extended durations, providing continuous maritime surveillance while reducing risks to personnel. Key capabilities: 🔹 Persistent Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) surveillance 🔹 Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) missions 🔹 Semi-submersible design with low radar, visual and acoustic signatures for covert operations 🔹 Advanced hydrophone arrays to detect and track submarines and underwater threats 🔹 AI/ML-powered target classification to distinguish submarines, surface vessels and marine noise with greater accuracy 🔹 Secure encrypted transmission of real-time intelligence to Indian Navy command centre 🔹 Scalable deployment in coordinated autonomous fleets for wider maritime coverage 🔹 Why the Make-II model matters The project is being developed under the Make-II category of the Defence Acquisition Procedure (DAP), where: ✅ Apollo Micro Systems funds prototype development. ✅ The Indian Navy defines operational requirements and oversees trials. ✅ Following successful user evaluation and sea trials, the Navy can place bulk procurement orders, accelerating indigenous defence manufacturing. 🔹 Strategic Importance The Indian Ocean Region is witnessing increasing submarine deployments and underwater competition.
