A common misconception is mental toughness(MT) is gained from “fatiguing” workouts. MT is a skillset that can be developed from #selftalk #concentration #arousalcontrol #GoalSetting #performanceimagery Not implicitly through fatigue workouts. Cressey’s message is still on point

Pushing hard for work capacity & mental toughness in athletes w/little training experience is robbing Peter to pay Paul. What little you gain is outweighed by the fact that you ingrain bad movement patterns as they push through fatigue. Pick low hanging fruit: quality movement.
