📍 #AshokKumarLahiri will succeed #SumanKBery as Vice Chairperson of #NITIAayog; Suman's term is scheduled to end on May 1, 2026. His career includes senior positions in institutions like the #WorldBank #IMF & #AsianDevelopmenBank, which will bring a global economic perspective to the country's policymaking process! The appointment of Dr. Lahiri & Dr. Govardhan Das, both natives of West Bengal, comes during the 2026 #WestBengalAssemblyElections; Some observers consider this timeframe to be politically significant. As an experienced economist, Dr. Lahiri previously served as India's 12th Chief Economic Adviser (20022007) and as a member of the 15th Finance Commission. The names of several other associates were also proposed: Rajiv Gauba (Former Cabinet Secretary) Professor Gobardhan Das (Distinguished Scientist/Immunologist) Professor Abhay Karandikar Professor K.V. [and others] Dr. M. [and others]..😷🍁
