Inspired by #Askdistell Q&A earlier this week about their new releases. Iβm hitting @Bunnahabhain moine Bordeaux wine cask limited edition. Big fruity influence from the wine on this with hints of toffee and a lovely smokey finish π₯π₯π₯ Colour of that!!!

Wow @DistellMalts , that's a really impressive line-up of new releases from @Bunnahabhain , @TobDistillery & @deanstonmalt . I was π€€π€€ as I watched the video on https://t.co/FqKXxLkciM
I know I'm a bit late for the #AskDistell live Q&A, but I have a question:
1/5
Representing Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Tobermory Distilleries, you may ask the Distilleries Manager questions directly. I'm loving this page! #AskDistell
Any questions about distilling or Distilleries? Feeling a bit left out π Stephen. #AskDistell

@JasonGilluley We had whisky which was ready and also we like to put out a range in different price brackets. Sometimes limited releases are very expensive, so we like to be affordable and accessible too. While still being delicious of course! Julieann. #AskDistell
#AskDistell Your Fèis ile releases this year were outstanding. Why so many? Some distilleries just put out one bottle. Is it they were just ready at that particular moment?
Goodnight #AskDistell
@kat_fors It helps us keep the coastal character of Bunnahabhain so we would never want to change that at Stephen rightly said. Julieann. #AskDistell
#AskDistell you mentioned gin at Tobermory. Any plans at Bunnahabhain for a gin like your neighbour bruichladdich
Can you help with this one, #AskDistell? β¬οΈ
I'm struggling to grasp how you ensure a large enough supply of ex-sherry casks to meet your needs without relying on the seasoning industry in Jerez.
#AskDistell There seems to be a lot of rum cask finishes released recently have you any maturing in your warehouse
@PlanetWhiskies Oh tough question! We visit each of our distilleries quite often and sample the casks to monitor the progress of the maturation. We take it out when we feel it's right as we'd hate to run the risk of it going too far and being overpowered. Julieann. #AskDistell
@DistellMalts #AskDistell Do the stills have names at each of the distilleries? What's the reason behind the names?
@DistellMalts Each distillery has different shape stills. Have you ever considered sharing the distills between distilleries?
Ie. Doing the first distill at Tobermory and the second at Bunna to see how the flavour is affected? #AskDistell
#AskDistell With all the whiskies involved tonight, was there any you just wished you left in the cask for slightly longer? I noted the Deaston 12 year old Fino was 9.5 years in Bourbon cask and 2.5 years in Sherry.
