🎾🎾⭐️Thank you @DjokerNole #djokovic for this level and determination to win your 101th ATP trnmt. It's a big example of resilience and mental strength. I had a great week betting 3 times on Djoko for the win in #atpathens ! Follow me here and on https://t.co/oLZEm1qgDW 👉🤞🤠
101 VEZES NOVAK DJOKOVIC!
Djokovic vira pra cima de Musetti e é CAMPEÃO em Atenas!

I like Novak’s set! 💚🖤 #atpathens
The GOAT doesn’t care about your facts.
Or your feelings.
This is an awesome thing to witness.
#ATPAthens
This is a massive first set. Djokovic is 16-0 in the past year when winning the first set.
Just 2-7 when losing it.
Just prepare yourself for the deluge of “NOVAK ML” on your TL (by the people not looking at these angles at all) if Musetti picks up the set.

How deep Novak had to dig to break El Maestro for the first time! Cinema.
And it’s decider-o-clock at #ATPAthens!
In un tennis dove tutti tirano piatto e fortissimo, il rovescio in back di #Musetti è un'arma impropria.
Ti manda letteralmente al manicomio.

Djokovic had upped his level nicely, 3 consecutive service holds to love, Musetti however is still playing at a high level, it's a high level match.
Djokovic leads 3-2 on serve in the 2nd set.

Swerve:
🍓 1U 🇮🇹 Lorenzo Musetti ML (+185/2.85)
Maestro & I against the world.
👇Here's Why👇
Once upon a time, this line would have made perfect sense. Lorenzo Musetti against Novak Djokovic on a hard court? Automatic click for Novak. You didn’t even have to think about it.
After all, Musetti’s 1–8 lifetime against him, and Djokovic handled him easily in Miami earlier this year. Seven straight sets lost, on every surface imaginable. Indoors? Forget it. The last time they played under a roof—in 2022—Novak bageled him. Six–love, thank you, drive safely.
And now we’re in Athens, his new hometown, at a tournament where Novak’s brother just happens to be the Tournament Director, and the surface is as fast as it gets—almost like it was designed in a Djokovic lab.
But tennis changes. Players evolve. This isn’t just about Novak being a year older; it’s about Musetti being a completely different player. He’s just 23, and the version we’re seeing right now is something new. The GOAT hasn’t faced this beast just yet.
Musetti has always been one of the most polished defensive players on tour—top 10 in nearly every meaningful metric—but his serve was always the weak link.
That changed this summer.
At the Canada Masters, he unveiled a new service motion, more compact, efficient, and powerful, with better use of his legs. And the improvement has been dramatic:
Ace %: 4.5% --> 8.3%
1st Win %: 70% --> 77%
2nd Win %: 51% --> 57%
Hold %: 78% --> 88%
Those numbers don’t just tweak his game—they redefine it.
To really grasp how big those jumps are, you have to put them in context.
Musetti’s ace rate didn’t just tick up—it leapt from Learner Tien levels (4.5%) to Arthur Fils territory (8.1%).
His first-serve win rate climbed out of the Cameron Norrie and Jaume Munar range (around 70–71%) and into the company of Andrey Rublev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Ben Shelton—all sitting around 75–77%.
On second serve, the leap is even more striking: from Francisco Cerúndolo’s 51% to what now ranks fourth on tour, trailing only Jannik Sinner (59%), Alex de Minaur (58%), and Carlos Alcaraz (57.4%).
And that hold percentage? He’s gone from the Zizou Bergs–Alex Michelsen–Corentin Moutet crowd (hovering around 77–78%) to the elite neighborhood of Zverev and Alcaraz—both holding at 88%.
These are massive upgrades across the board. The old “Musetti can’t play on hard courts” narrative? That’s lazy, outdated, and officially dead. This version of the Maestro is a real threat—sharper, stronger, more complete—and he’s only trending upward.
Novak, to his credit, has looked terrific this week: clean, efficient wins over Yannick Hanfmann, Nuno Borges, and Alejandro Tabilo. The engine still purrs.
But this number—this line—doesn’t reflect the player across the net. It’s built on the idea that nothing’s changed, that Musetti’s still the same 20-year-old Novak could pick apart at will. He’s not. Not even close.
This is a huge moment for Musetti. A shot at qualifying for Turin on the line, indoors in Athens, facing the man who’s owned him for years. In the past, that kind of pressure might’ve cracked him.
But not this week. If you’ve watched him, you’ve seen it—he’s steadier, bolder, winning the points that used to slip away. There’s a calm to him now, a confidence that only comes from taking your lumps against the best and figuring out how to hit back.
For the first time in their rivalry on this surface, Musetti isn’t stepping onto the court just to compete.
He’s stepping on to win. And in Athens, our money is on El Maestro to conduct the upset.
Good to be back. Thank you so much for reading, if you did <3. Appreciate you all.
Trust the system; cash the slips.
