EKSG EXCO Members Visit Adire Ekiti Hub
Earlier this week, Ekiti State Executive Council (EXCO) members visited the Adire Ekiti Hub, where they commended the empowerment initiatives of the state's First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji.
Dr Oyebanji expressed her gratitude to the EXCO members for visiting the hub and highlighted its achievements, stating that over 400 youths from the Ekiti Central and Southern Senatorial Districts have been trained and empowered, with an additional 200 youths from the Ekiti South Senatorial District set to commence training soon.
She revealed that demand for adire products has surged, both within the state and in the diaspora, due to their distinct quality and cultural significance. The hub has also established a sustainable arrangement by purchasing finished products from the youths, thereby supporting their business growth and providing a viable alternative to handouts.
Dr Oyebanji encouraged the EXCO members to embrace and promote the locally made products, which proudly showcase the state's cultural heritage.
Leading the delegation, Secretary to the State Government, Dr (Mrs.) Habibat Adubiaro praised the initiative as impressive, encouraging, and impactful. She pledged that the EXCO members would facilitate training and empowerment for youths in their respective constituencies and promote adire fabrics in government functions and events to further boost the visibility and viability of the local textile industry.
The EXCO members lauded the hub's positive impact on the state's socio-economic development. They also expressed a desire to partner with Adire Ekiti Hub to intensify youth empowerment, encourage sustainable MSMEs, promote indigenous textile crafts, and enhance the economic potential of the craft in the modern market.

#DidYouKnow that Ekiti State Local Content Law (2024) ensures that residents and local businesses benefit from the development initiatives of Ekiti State Government.
Aside from these contracts providing infrastructure, facilitating industrialisation, creating jobs, aiding governance and improving human capital development, the local content stipulation also ensures that patronising the people and local businesses becomes a priority.
This aligns with the BAO administrationβs human capital development agenda by promoting local employment, job creation and business growth.

Now Is The Time to Invest In Nigeria, Gov Oyebanji Urges Investors at US-Africa Business Summit
On Tuesday, Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji urged investors at the US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas to take advantage of Nigeria's current economic reforms and invest in the country.Β
The governor made this declaration during a panel session organised by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA). To drive this point, he highlighted Ekiti State's successful collaborations with international investors like Cavista Holdings and Promasidor. Governor Oyebanji reassured potential investors that Ekiti offers a stable regulatory framework, ease of doing business, and robust security measures. He concluded by emphasising the role of sub-national economies in driving Nigeria's growth and revealed that the Federal Government is now committed to developing such sub-national economies.
In attendance at the session were heads of national governments and sub-national governments; investors; policymakers; and development agencies from different parts of the world, including the Chairman of the Board of Corporate Council on Africa, Mr John Olajide.Β
