Do we need to organise the weeks of late Sept, October and early November into slots so that overlapping specialties don’t end up with the the conundrum today of the first day of #BASICS2024 overlapping with last day of #RCEMasc, and also with #SAMBrighton?
Had the pleasure of chatting to a final year medical student at #BASICS2024 today: it dawned on me that the transition from layperson to doctor is nearly complete… thought processes/attitudes as well as knowledge/skills. In a few months she will be fully fledged & ready to fly.

If a patient is talking to you whilst in VT, it’s not an emergency to cardiovert them. Also, care w/amiodarone boluses in hypotensive pt: in UK it’s commonly diluted in polysorbate 80 (more vasodilatory ⬇️BP than captisol which is often used in US). #BASICS2024 #DrPaulRees
