Very proud that we managed to retain the British Open Youth title at Preston today, that's 6 in a row! #BATG2018
An exciting one from @MilnrowBand, fairly shifting in tempo but they make a good attempt at the technique. Great euph and sop #BATG2018
Next up is @MilnrowBand with another Odyssey. Good to see Elland band conductor Danny Brooks in today doing his areas research! #BATG2018
Lots of variation in Odyssey tam tam dynamics today, ranging from "where is it?" mp to jump-out-of-your-seat fff! #BATG2018
Wow, what an opening! Some of the best ensemble playing heard in a long time from @hammondsband, maybe not 100% clean but it took lots of risks and it was a supercharged performance #BATG2018
A superb rendition of Odyssey from @ThoresbyBand, the first contest performance of the year for this piece?
If all the bands at the areas play this well then the regionals will be great this year!

Second and Championship sections now getting underway at Preston (in different halls obviously!).
First up in the top section is Thoresby Colliery playing Odyssey #BATG2018
Good look to all bands competing at #BATG2018. Our conductor Paul Andrews is adjudicating the 1st and Championship sections!
Good luck to all bands competing at Brass at the Guild today. Be sure to impress @leylandband adjudicators Doyle and Wyss! #BATG2018
An atmospheric one by Skelmersdale band with Napoleon on the Alps in 3rd section. Some great quiet playing and secure soloists, especially the sublime cornet! Well led by a young M.D. #BATG2018
The deadline for entries has passed. Going to be a great event with over 45 bands taking the stage. #BATG2018
