I love the editorial stage and like to work closely with my authors on edits before submission to publishers. But we also adapt to what an author/book needs and can take other approaches too, when needed. SEM #BFLAOpenWeek #AskAgent

Without reading the book it's a bit tricky to advise, but I would have concerns about the action building after the first three chapters if you're writing crime. JP #BFLAOpenWeek #AskAgent

No - if an agent has decided that your writing isn't a match for them, it's unlikely that a publisher offer will change that. Hopefully there will be other agents still reading that you could nudge with news of the offer! SEM #BFLAOpenWeek #AskAgent

@BlakeFriedmann @julietpickering @sianellismartin As an underrepresented writer, it isn't easy to find comp titles because books from my area/people/setting are so few in publishing and media. If I find titles, the genre doesn't match or the writing style greatly varies. Any tips for me?
Like JP, I like to great straight in on the action of the story. Some pet peeves are a story starting as someone wakes up in the morning, or setting out on a plane/car/boat journey. Just take me straight where they're going! SEM #BFLAOpenWeek #AskAgent

Probably not in 280 characters! But digital first can be a really successful (and increasingly popular) publishing model and is one that we work with for some of our authors. SEM #BFLAOpenWeek #AskAgent
