Science staff dressed up for the last GCSE science exams! Faculty Leader, Miss Hawke dressed up every morning during exams, to greet students to make them smile, and take away some of the nerves!

All of Year 7 students attended a special assembly yesterday afternoon with a talk from the National Space centre. They saw combustion in action using a ‘whoosh bottle’ and learnt about careers in space!

Today, Year 6 students from a variety of feeder Primary Schools enjoyed a morning of Science, to celebrate British Science Week 2024. They used their skills to solve; ‘The effect of a slope on a Toy Car’s speed’, and ‘Which indigestion tablet reacts the fastest?’.

Some Year 9 and 10 students took part in the University of Leicester ‘Medicine calling day’ on Wednesday 13th December 2023, looking at careers in Mental healthcare. They had a brilliant and insightful day and are inspired to look at further education.

FIREWORKS THEMED SCIENCE CLUB!
At today's KS3 lunchtime Science Club, students experimented with different elements flame colours. Ms Gajjar finished the session with ’Screaming Jelly Babies!’

Today, KS3 Science lunch club made, Witches Brew, Jumping Ghosts and Tea Bag Ghosts! They were also treated to a display of a pumpkin filled with dry ice! Check out their ’Thriller Arms’ below!

Space Centre Assembly
Year 7 students had an assembly yesterday with the Ignite Team from the National Space Centre, looking at what is needed for space travel and career opportunities.

On Friday 19th May, Year 8 Science class 8Z2, went outside with ‘pooters’, collecting and analysing bugs! The students caught ants, beetles and various other insects. They had a lovely morning outside and really enjoyed collecting them!

YEAR 8 TWYCROSS ZOO TRIPS!
Year 8’s had a wonderful time at Twycross zoo on their Science trips on Monday 4th & Tuesday 5th July.
They were able to see aspects of topics they have learnt this year in action e.g. Conservation and Endangerment.
