Al Bol d'Or 2026 tutte le moto in gara sul rettifilo del Mistral dovranno rispettare... velocità codice! Decisione clamorosa (e non è uno scherzo): in attesa della ratifica regolamentare, da quest'anno sull'infinito rettilineo da 1.800 metri del Mistral non si dovrà superare una determinata velocità massima decisa a tavolino alla vigilia. Questo per ragioni di sicurezza, ma anche per salvaguardare ove possibile l'affidabilità dei motori.
Dal 2019 a questa parte si è discusso a più riprese di limitare le top speed delle moto del Mondiale Endurance motociclistico sul Mistral. Scongiurata in tre distinte occasioni la proposta di introdurre la chicane (un po' come accadeva nei recenti Gran Premi di Formula 1 svoltisi al Paul Ricard), si è convenuti su spinta di alcune squadre della top class EWC di prevedere una "velocità limite" ancora da definire, così da non raggiungere le punte di 340-350 km/h viste in questi anni.
I dettagli verranno svelati in seguito, ma in base a quanto ci è dato sapere questa top speed limite verrà monitorata attraverso GPS con il transponder fornito dal sistema di cronometraggio ufficiale. Quel che è certo, con questa impopolare decisione (per quanto con finalità legittime), svanisce un po' la magia e l'adrenalina del Mistral e della grande classica del motociclismo d'oltralpe in termini assoluti.
