Let the fact be stated, #BadeMiyanChoteMiyan is NOT A BAD FILM! One can always pinpoint on weak areas when a film doesn’t open well or sustain. However all of this is IGNORED when the opposite happens and then the retort is - “Oh, it’s a commercial film after all, yeh sab chalta hai”!
Yes, the film has its questionable/debatable points when it comes to overuse of technicalities in the 2nd half. The humour quotient could have been better, given the fun/funny title. Also, audiences could have been better prepared about what to expect from the film.
But, and that’s a big but, as an action film #BMCM does really well. It’s well orchestrated, fast paced and at certain places, the action set pieces are also never-seen-before. Heck, the whole missile/iron dome thing coincides eerily with the current war situation in Israel/Iran.
Frankly, this is one film where I didn’t get an urge to check my cellphone.
It’s not a perfect film. It’s a plain and simple action film and moreover, looks grand on the big screen too. I don’t remember when was the last time a #Bollywood film belonging to this genre was panned like this and not even given a chance. It’s not a 300 Crore Club film. But it’s certainly not a sub-100 crores film either.
Without pre-release (manufactured) negativity, it could have taken at least 25 crores+ opening and then done far better business than what it’s currently doing.
Unfortunate.
