Sometimes we discover some very strange things have been used as bookmarks by the patrons of #BandonLibrary - Brenda once opened a book to discover a pork sausage!!!
And then there are times we find some very important items have been used as bookmarks.
Well, when we discovered this letter to Santa tucked into a book, we knew we had a serious task ahead of us.
Straight to the post-box we ran, to make sure it winged its way to the North Pole in time! 🧑🎄
We’d hate for whatever is listed in the letter not to be packed up on Santa’s sleigh come Christmas eve!!

#BandonLibrary was thrilled to host a team from the Electronic Music Council over this year’s midterm break for a Beat Masters Youth DJ Bootcamp.

We couldn’t have thought of a better way to end both Cork County Council Library’s Comic Book Festivaland midterm break, then to have a very special family story time at #BandonLibrary.
Peter, as always lead from the front with a brilliant choice of costume!
Lots of ‘boos’ as Peter said ‘ooh’ could be heard ringing out across the library, and the crowd finished the fun filled session with a rendition of the 12 Days of Halloween!

Did you know you can substitute bananas for piano keys??? Well when @our_kids_code brought their Creative Coding Workshop to #BandonLibrary last week, we found out all about it!
The families who attended used the Scratch and MakeCode coding platforms to not only repurpose curved yellow fruits, but to also create musical dance mats out of paper plates and tinfoil, and to engage in epic rock-paper-scissor battles using Micro:bits, with wristbands made from duct tape and velcro!
It was fantastic to see the families’ confidence in STEAM growing as the week progressed.
A big thank you to Mary for facilitating this fun and engaging camp.
