THIRTY of our amazing #BartonExplorers musicians participated in their first day of MCPSS Middle School Honor Band rehearsal today at Baker High School. They will have their final rehearsal during school Thursday, followed by a performance at Baker Thursday night at 6:00 pm! 🎶💙

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of our music department! THIRTY #BartonExplorers earned spots middle school MCPSS honor band. Nine of those earned FIRST CHAIR placements between bands.

Three Barton 9th grade students auditioned for MCPSS High School Honor Band this week, and all three earned spots! In fact, Sara earned the #1 Gold Band chair placement for her instrument! Congratulations, #BartonExplorers!

We are very rapidly outgrowing our music room, and what a great problem to have! This year, Barton has a band over 70+ strong in grades 6-9. Fine Arts education is incredibly important, and we are proud to have exemplary music and art programs at Barton! 💙
