Gentlemen.
This is not just an appreciation post.
This is a record
for generations.
This is evidence
that God still raises fathers who refuse
to let destiny die.
1. ELDER [DR] SOJI TAYO:
THE COVENANT FATHER
You saw a "child of nobody" and you
called me "son".
You funded my final year at the Nation's Premier University - when I was
down to my last kobo.
You watched me graduate with FIRST CLASS HONOURS against all odds.
You personally pushed me into Nigerian Law School, Ozumba Mbadiwe and you funded it FULLY.
You did not stop there.
You placed me on monthly stipends throughout Law School so that I wanted for nothing. Food, rent, books - covered.
When God opened the door for my PG in Law
in the UK, you came around with initial loan support running into millions.
And sir, when I returned to REFUND YOU THE FULL LOAN after my program, you looked me in the eyes and said:
"JO, YOU TOO DO OTHERS AS WE HAVE DONE FOR YOU."
YOU NEVER
COLLECTED IT BACK.
That day you transferred wealth into legacy.
You did not invest
in a boy. You invested
in a movement.
You carry the DNA of men like Dr Deji Deleke -
Dad to @davido and brother to @AAdeleke_01
but world class philanthropist and in a class of men who see raw potential in a hungry child and decide to sponsor not just a degree, but a destiny.
Men who fund with no expectation of return, except that the beneficiary will become a fountain for others.
You are also cut from the same cloth as your own brother, PROF. ADEMOLA TAYO,
