How do you respond-really?! Whats sad is not everyone walked out & that some embrace this as the Gospel of Christ & not the bigotry it is. Will @Synod_va @synodalpathway change the teaching & way of being church that creates the ground on which this man stands. #BeBetterChurchNow
This video from St Mary’s Church in Listowel is absolutely shocking….
#BeBetterChurchNow @CatholicBishops @ACPInIreland don’t wait for @Synod_va & @synodalpathway to change this distressing picture for many women in the church. If you trust the spirit spoke in the Synodal process so far Select, train, appoint & support women pastoral leaders now.
Oh my! Oh My! Is this really the memory we want to focus on in this @Synod_va era of the church @VaticanNews ? Surely this is not what is in the heart and mind of @Pontifex? #BeBetterChurchNow & honour what Jesus taught about the value of women & appoint them as pastoral leaders
The absence of the female presence &, more importantly, voice, is really quite stark when you see ‘Ireland’s Church Leaders’ in a picture like this & making a call so important as this one is. The picture must change! @we_irl @CatholicBishops @churchofireland #BeBetterChurchNow
If it is to meet the needs of the people who are living the day realities of today’s society and culture. The church does not exist to maintain its rightness at all costs but, as Jesus did, to meet people where they are and help them live more loving lives #BeBetterChurchNow 4/4
Well done on this great practice of Being Better Church Now. The work of local parishes, on these issues and those of social justice, is how young people in can be engaged in experiencing Christ and the gospel. #BeBetterChurchNow @synodalpathway @CatholicBishops @ACPInIreland

Dear @CatholicBishops @synodalpathway thank you for the courage shown in trusting The Spirit at work in the Irish Church through the voices of those we heard from in the Synthesis published yesterday. Overnight change is not expected but #BeBetterChurchNow & take the first steps.

@CatholicSeattle @FlanneryTony I think that is a wonderful idea demonstrating that ‘the best criticism of the bad is the practice of the better’. I truly hope that @CatholicBishops & clergy at parish level, especially those in @ACPInIreland, take courage from the message in this document & #BeBetterChurchNow
I’m Looking forward to having a close read and indeed tuning into Nicola chair of @synodalpathway as she launches it in @knockshrine tomorrow. #BeBetterChurchNow

@NCRonline @cwwhiteNCR Let’s hope this moves beyond dialogue into action & becomes best church practice. Perhaps it might even inspire @CatholicBishops to have the same serious dialogue that could also include the role of women in ministry. #BeBetterChurchNow #TrainedNotOrdained @we_irl @ACPInIreland
@P_BenedictXVI @BMcKev Every created thing is sacred and incarnated with Divine life & light. this is what the church should be teaching us, should have taught us all along. Perhaps then we might learn to kneel before everything and everyone we encounter & not deal out hurt. Time to #BeBetterChurchNow
@Sachinettiyil Oh come on…. Just stop with this now. Please stop talking about what doctrinal and dogmatic rules we as Christian’s should be following. That’s all the man made - yes ‘man’ made stuff that Jesus came down on the Pharisees about … what was it ‘brood of vipers’ #BeBetterChurchNow
@Sachinettiyil Feeding the homeless - A different sort of Eucharistic procession? #BeBetterChurchNow
@IrishTimes Its a shame being backed into a corner is whats forcing the church into better practices; the attitude with which you do a thing brings that energy with it-good or bad! But will laity now step up? Only if they feel truly welcome @CatholicBishops
#BeBetterChurchNow @ACPInIreland
@Synod_va @CatholicBishops @Pontifex @Pontifex is chipping away at Being Better Church Now in the face of resistance. #BeBetterChurchNow invites @CatholicBishops @ACPInIreland & lay parish leaders not to wait for Oct 23 @Synod_va reforms, but instead, Be The Change NOW: #TrainedNotOrdained lay people is the answer.
