⚠️Warning: graphic content ⚠️ Two days ago a woman publicly posted this video on FB of what appears to be a human hand that washed up on Sandy Point Beach in Portsmouth, RI. The vid was reshared to a local town group, where the poster said she was told local police were called and the officer “threw the evidence back in the water.” I was made aware of the video by a family member of Luke Benoit, a father of 4 who went missing in Portsmouth a year ago on the 28th. He was last seen on Boyds Ln in Portsmouth and his cell phone last pinged near the Sakonnet River Bridge. This is roughly 7 miles from where the presumed hand was found. Luke’s family called State Police and were allegedly told “they cannot do anything because they were unaware of the situation.” Waiting for more details and clarification on the situation. This is awful.
