Students discovered that strawberries are octoploid! 🍓cells have 8 copies of each chromosome- that’s 4x as many as humans!

Biology Ss researched this big Q & discussed key findings in a #ScientistCircle:
⚠️ 80 out of 5570 mammal species are extinct
⚠️ 20-50% of species are endangered
⚠️ Humans CAN prevent this but must act now!

Turns out trees are 95% carbon dioxide!! That’s right, the stuff we breathe out helps build up trees since they make glucose from our CO2 through photosynthesis. Every time you breathe, you are helping a tree 😊🌳 #bectonscience

Check out these eggcelent results!🥚✨ The high fructose corn syrup sucked the water out of the egg, causing it to shrivel and dehydrate!The other eggs experienced an influx of water and swelled. Students will evaluate results & continue exploring this phenomena! #BectonScience
