At this time last year, our team was excited and thrilled about WWDC to bring you early access to beta profiles. However, this year there won't be an opportunity for me to do that again. There are two main reasons for that. Firstly, Apple forced our website to shut down (back in August last year), and secondly, they have implemented a new integrated beta software update system within the Settings app since iOS 16.4, macOS 13.4 and watchOS 9.5. Perhaps this change is beneficial for Apple in some way, as they have eliminated the complaints from beta users about their devices experiencing battery drain, slowness, laggy, and full of bugs. I remember last year, our team was quite exhausted responding to hundreds of emails about users unable to update their iPhone 7 to iOS 16, how to downgrade to a stable iOS version, and devices becoming excessively hot after updates,… I guess Apple might have faced similar situations (apologies to Apple). This year will be the first year with no beta profiles released, but don't be sad. You can still use the public beta in July (usually) – it's free and open to anyone who wants to experience the beta software. And I believe there will be other ways for non-developers to try iOS 17 beta without having to pay. Finally, enjoy #WWDC23 because it's bound to be amazing.
