A butterfly can launch a hurricane, but it takes time for a caterpillar to emerge from its chrysalis. We need to provide safe and supportive homes so that people can emerge as their powerful selves. @clentonF #BetterShared21
Some very personal stories being shared by the panel and the thread running through them all is the importance of 'contribution', 'connection' and 'certainty' and how these come from 'relationships' not services. 😊

The option of choosing #SharedLives gave our ambassador Heather the security she needed to make the transition out of foster care. She highlights how important it is that social workers know about, and understand, the service, so they can offer it to more people. #BetterShared21
Care can come from surprising places, according to @CormacRussell, who is talking about the lack of care he faced in his early life from the places and people he most relied on. But that care is about connection and contribution, as well as basic needs. #BetterShared21
