I measured the magnitude of #BobbleTest change from morning to afternoon. On average it decreased by 4%, which is equivalent to 1 additional chatter or snaking event for each roll of a ball down the stimpmeter. I wrote about this @paceturf. https://t.co/xVAsEjVEPq
@workingonmy From measurements of bentgrass, bermudagrass, paspalum, and zoysia greens, the trend is highest #BobbleTest for bent (best), then bermuda, paspalum, and finally zoysia (worst). For morning to afternoon measurements, bentgrass dropped more than zoysia under tournament conditions.
Here's average morning (blue) & afternoon (red) #BobbleTest from last Saturday through this morning. I've been impressed at the consistent drop from morning to afternoon, even with a full field (147 players plus their caddies) putting pitch marks and traffic on the greens.
I measure the ball roll distance (green speed) with the stimpmeter and at the same time measure the #BobbleTest.
