Just found a beautiful #bufftail #Queen #Bumblebee feeding on my buddleia weyeriana which is still in flower now in December. You can see why it is so very important to have things in flower through the winter. #Winterflowering #shrubs are a #lifeline for winter active insects!

Sad to see hardly any #bees or #hoverflies in #garden. I've counted 5 #carder, 1 #honeybee, 1 #bufftail & 1 #earlybumblebee, #hebe is 2 weeks late in flowering. Meadow & lawn is covered in flowers! @BumblebeeTrust @BuglifeScotland

Filmed this buff-tail last summer robbing #nectar from my #comfrey! Fascinating to watch #nectarrobber The #bee makes a small hole at the base of the flower & drinks the nectar (& has a wash!) but without brushing against any pollen #garden #flowers #bumblebee #bufftail #mygarden
