Pelo fim do Build In Public! Venha para o #buildinsecret e pro #DieInPublic , estou perdendo a posição no top1 ranking br. Vou mandar 10 monsters hj pra compensar

Oss

If it weren’t for @danjharrin guarding my drafts like a dragon 🐉,
you’d all be seeing some wild stuff right now 👀🤩
#buildinsecret #v5 #soon
Alongside @filamentphp v5, we've got 2 large projects cooking, both being released with v5... any guesses?

Is this #BuildInPublic or #BuildInSecret success? 😂

#buildinsecret is the new black
I got blocked
I was chatting with some guy about my product for a few days
now this guy just blocked my on X and started building exactly the same product, ahahah
just a funny guy
should I report this X page?

Doing a lot of code generation with LLMs at the moment. The application is in a slightly sensitive and strictly controlled sector so sadly can’t publish much code wise - sadly closer to #buildinsecret than #buildinpublic
But I am going to try and post daily lessons learned on the promoting side of things. So starting with todays:
Verifying the model not only understands the task at hand - ask it to confirm with a single word. Also ask it to respond with a number between 1 and 100 that reflects the chances it believes it has at succeeding in the task (for which you’ve told it must be perfect and bug free). It seems to correlate with the quality of your task definition. If it doesn’t feel confident you’re unlikely to get a good result. Go hack and simplify the task / reduce the waffle. I had one case where this refinement step got it to jump from 1 - 90 %. Which seemed about right - 1 minor bug.
Nothing beats a good old fashioned pen and paper debug if you really want to understand a complex or critical piece of code. Just write it down and work through it line by line in on the paper and in your mind. There’s much more time available to do things like this with the LLM generating the code.
Paper notebooks still have a place, particularly for drawing sketches - I’ve never been able to match it for speed with mouse and keyboard. Hoping Apple Vision Pro will become the ultimate whiteboard here. Particularly if it can turn one of my hand drawn scribbles into a Visio.
I took a small break to do a little challenge that came from nowhere - the intention wasn’t to actually solve the challenge, but to see where my process would break down. And it turned out to be exactly where I expected. I can also look at publishing these and the associated videos as they’re not sensitive.
Keeping a structured list of lessons learned is helping refine the super prompt and add to my future “ultimate guide to code prompting” book. I’ve also started recording everything I do - screen and face and explaining allowed what I’m doing, why etc. I think this level of complete traceability and explanation is important in the area I’m working on this one.
I’m automating all the boring housekeeping stuff programmers previously hated to do. Basically streamlining the process and making efficiency gains wherever I can.
There was a reason travel agents loved their old school terminals. They’re incredibly responsive and fast to use I.e. tabbing between fields etc. npyscreen is a cool and easy way to get a super responsive gui up and running.
Last, but not least, generate your requirements.txt at the end of your run. If you create it mid way you risk missing some dependencies out!

🔃 business model status: I'M CONFUSED
you may have noticed in the last two days I was very low key on Twitter 🫥
it’s *not* bc I was taking much needed rest 💀
it’s bc I am in a creative frenzy, working on another project 🐣
this one will be #buildinsecret until sufficiently fleshed out
I've been quite #buildinsecret with it!
a normal person would double down on their money product after it launched on PH and tripled in customer count (I'm looking at you @rafal_makes)
but I decided to switch gears and dedicate this time to building another project 🫠
Despite what people say, starting a #saas or a #business - whether you #buildinpublic or #buildinsecret... it's not easy.
I hit 6 figures for the first time last year... but it took 19 years to do it.
The important thing is not to give up. Time and patience are your allies. ⏱️
¿El peor tuit de la historia?
#BuildInSecret
TIL:
It costs ~$150 to get 1 (ONE!) click on a Google ad for "hire python developer" 🤯
p.s. I may, or may not, be researching a new side project 🤓

Never reveal your startup idea!
The only people you should tell, are investors (these are the only people you fully depend on, and can fully trust).

If you want to start a startup, the first step is to go to business school; that's obvious from the name "business school." Once you start it, make sure you have lots of meetings, to keep everyone on the same page. These meetings should consist mostly of Powerpoint presentations.
