If @LibbySchaaf isn’t taking the regional lead on housing, then who? Easy choice. How about San Leandro @mayorcutter. She is a master consensus builder, neighbors Oakland, and her city is similar to other Alameda County cities. #CASAcompact
Hayward CM @aishabbwahab also questions the county’s representation for #CASAcompact. This is why I keep saying @LibbySchaaf is the wrong person to lead the housing crisis in the East Bay. The rest of Alameda County despises Oakland.
Fremont Mayor Lily Mei upset her city was not part of the #CASAcompact process despite being the second largest city in Alameda County. The sentiment is common in Fremont and often true. Sun revolves around Oakland, it seems.
#CASAcompact appears progressive and most of the south county elected officials in the room here in San Leandro talk this talk but when individual projects come before them they consistently don’t walk the walk.
