In theory not practice, esp where #CountylinesCCE male victims concerned In all families contacting us where #CAWNs featured, it's led to abject safeguarding failures, not safety, e.g. 1 subject continued to have #child in their home/police disinterested/parents tearing hair out

This distancing often leads to the victim having the space for safeguarding professionals to support her to trust the authorities to give evidence against the perpetrator so that a prosecution can be brought These Notices lead to 100s more offenders being brought to justice

#CAWNs are a deterrent tool but need a review as they don't extend to children between 16-18 who are *not* in care. This is a massive loophole which needs closing.

@eggcup61 #CAWNs are a good tool bt don't go far enough as they're only applicable until 16 for non-care kids.A child is a minor until 18 yet these notices disapply *2 years* prior-no justifiable reason esp given today's harms.If children can be #rewired in mins, imagine what 2 years does.

@eggcup61 Yes we do.We need to stop #tinkeringandfannyingabout.We need to stop believing the current products on the shelves are fit for purpose.We need resp that work but more importantly, *don't* work for the perps of children.#CAWNs being one e.g as only applicable til 16 for noncare YP

New @ukhomeoffice exploitation toolkit out today. Much of it fine in theory bt responses are just not kicking in reality/don't go far enough. E.g #CAWNs which only apply to age 16 unless YP is in care. Yet child is a minor until 18. No protection 16-18. https://t.co/VyE7Y7oQbZ
