There is greater refinement and finesse in the wines, especially their Chambertin! The older vintages like the 2005 is gorgeous but their recent vintages like the 2023 and even the lighter more aromatic 2024 is beautiful!

The new generation at Domaine Trapet Père & Fils (Louis & Pierre) are constantly innovating and refining — recently converting all of their nearly 20 hectares to the labor-intensive echalas (single stake tall vertical training) on their biodynamically farmed vineyard!
Impressive cuvée with so many different facets of its character to appreciate — to enjoy today the 2021 and 2012 are both exuberant and delicious; the recent vintages show a lot of promise but the one that stole my heart (and palate) this morning was the 2019! #chambertin
Truly memorable tasting of Domaine Faiveley Chambertin-Clos de Beze Cuvée Les Ouvrees Rodin (made since the 2010 vintage) with Erwan Faiveley!
Wonderful tasting with Nicholas Rossignol-Trapet — thank you for the fantastic vertical of Chambertin! Domaine Rossignol Trapet 🙏🏻

Since 2015, the style at this estate has evolved towards a lighter, less extracted style with minimal new oak (no more than 25% for grand cru wines)!

Comparison of 2018 vs 2019 Chambertin (and younger vintages like 2024) by Loic Dugat-Py reveals the quality and depth of the wines produced from their tiny holding (0.05ha in size)! The 2019 is as perfect a Chambertin that I have ever tasted;
Bravo 👏 👏👏to Arnaud Mortet who is a terrific vigneron crafting excellent wines from Bourgogne and Village Gevrey to Grands Crus!

A fabulous vertical of Domaine Denis Mortet rare Chambertin! Each vintage showed the brilliant terroir w the 2019 as the most profound, the 2020 the most serious and concentrated, the 2022 subtle & powerful, the 2023 harmonious & soulful, the 2024 the most approachable and open!

Not sure too much has to be said. 2008 #Chambertin from Armand Rousseau in a magnum. Red fruit, raspberry jam, red cherry, cherry liqueur, sous bois, black truffle, sweet spices. Well integrated palate, finely layered red fruit, fine tannins. #Burgundy #Gevrey #Pinot #wine

Hard to talk about a favorite in a lineup like this but the 2007 Screaming Eagle was so spectacular that it stood out in a lineup of great wines!

Ligue féminine : emmené par Zaliata #Mlamali et Djazz #Chambertin, 20 buts à elles deux, @MetzHandball a été impressionnant de régularité, ce mercredi aux Arènes, face à une faible équipe de Saint-Maur ⤵️

@dugatpy produces only around 200 bottles of #Chambertin #grandcru form his tiny 0.05he plot of 100 years old vines. Wine is raised in a 100% custom-made barrel corresponding to the crop's size at a given year, as this is usually around 180-200 litres of wine. There is around 80-90% whole bunch added.
Not everything will like it, but I do. Saturated and deep for Pinot Noir, the generous and dimensional aroma, which with time, is hard to point the finger at. It's ripe and forward with black cherries, blueberries and red pepper-scented pomegranate, bitter citrus oil, wildflowers, espresso, roast meat, damp earth and iodine.
The palate is dense and savoury, featuring very much those aromas mentioned with a seriously long and deep mineral core delivering a massive amount of potency, breadth and length. It is an extremly demanding and memorable wine capable of ageing for another 30+ years. Insanely powerful for a wine of 13%. 98+
