#CHIPRO at #ASCO26 This trial got my attention for one specific reason: it enrolled primary platinum-refractory patients - a population that is routinely excluded from PROC trials and left without good options in practice. That alone makes it clinically meaningful regardless of effect size. The biology is also interesting. #Chiauranib inhibits Aurora B kinase - forcing mitotic arrest that paclitaxel amplifies -while simultaneously targeting the immunosuppressive microenvironment via CSF1R/DDR1 and blocking angiogenesis via VEGFR/PDGFR. Three mechanisms, one agent, rationally paired with a taxane. mPFS 4.57 vs 2.69 mo, HR 0.427, p<0.001. ORR 32% vs 14.3%. PFS benefit held regardless of prior bevacizumab exposure -and ~70% had seen it. OS not significant in ITT. Favorable trends in prior PARPi-exposed patients and in those who went on to receive subsequent platinum. Important caveat: control arm was paclitaxel alone, not bevacizumab + paclitaxel (the AURELIA benchmark). Trial conducted exclusively in China- practice context matters for interpretation. Head-to-head vs bevacizumab-containing regimens is an open question. But for a population that rarely gets its own trial, this data matters!!!! #GynOnc #OvarianCancer #ASCO26
