We're thrilled to report that Lokapel Community, which is among the 50 communities under our project #SecuringRegisteredTitletoOurLands supported by @TenureFacility successfully elected their 15 Community Land Management Committee members as provided in #CLA2016.
The event focused on strengthening capacities of county officials, community institutions, and CSOs to better understand community land rights and fast-track the implementation of the Community Land Act 2016

The #CLA2016 came into force to give effect to Article 63 (5) of the Constitution which provides for community land. The Act specifically provides for among other things - the recognition, protection, and registration of community land rights.
