This historic proposal calls for the full acquisition and merger of #Osmosis β the largest DEX in the entire Cosmos ecosystem β directly into the #Cosmos Hub as a single, unified chain. The strategic goal: eliminate duplicate security costs, concentrate liquidity and protocol revenues in the Hub, and deliver clear, direct economic value back to ATOM holders. β
Key Highlights (updated April 5, 2026 version):
- No new $ATOM minting β revised after community and validator feedback
- Funding comes primarily from the Cosmos Hub Community Pool (β10.18 million ATOM covering ~85% of maximum conversion) plus protocol revenues (taker fees + arbitrage) used to buy ATOM on the open market
- Total cost capped at < 2.5% of entire ATOM supply (β11.82 million ATOM at current prices)
- OSMO β ATOM conversion: All circulating OSMO (β665 million) can be swapped within 1 year at a fixed rate of 0.0355 ATOM = 1.998 OSMO (based on 30-day TWAP as of March 11, 2026). Unused ATOM returns to the Community Pool
- Technical execution: Osmosis modules (poolmanager, concentrated liquidity, GAMM, cosmwasmpool, protorev, etc.) deployed via standard software upgrade.
