Prof Geetham Tiwary: Comprehensive Mobility Plans (CMP) should be revived. Earlier cities were offered grants provided they did a list of reforms. I'm not sure if CMP plays any role in development of smart cities.

Prof Geetham Tiwary: Sanitisation of public transport, Increasing number of buses to avoid over crowding, Increasing frequency of public transport and addressing the need of captive consumers are necessary to increase the commuter confidence in a post-covid world. #CPPR18QL

Prof Geetham Tiwary: When the metro system was compared against the CNG run bus system, it was found that the buses were better in terms of arcinogens, climate change impact, eco toxicity among others. @MetroRailKochi

Prof Geetham Tiwary: Irrespective of economic standards or income levels, most states have travels that are shorter in distance. This shows income level does not affect travel distance.
#CPPRQuarterlyLecture #CPPR18QL
Prof Geetham Tiwary: There is very little discussion taking place ON commutation by bicycles, buses or even pedestrians although only 20 % use motorised 2- wheelers and less than 5 % use cars. #CPPRQuarterlyLecture #CPPR18QL
Prof Geetam Tiwary: Car congestion is one of the least relevant #UrbanMobility problems especially with regards to sustainable development goals. @ut_MoHUA @Secretary_MoHUA #CPPR18QL
