The NordICC trial found *invitation to* colonoscopy (vs no screening) led to 42% colonoscopy uptake, reduced CRC risk by 18%, but did not ⬇️ risk of CRC death. It also found *getting a* colonoscopy ⬇️ CRC risk by 31% & risk of CRC death by 50%. #crcsm #ayacsm #CRCchat

A7: No. It has reinforced the need for awareness, education & early screening. #colorectalcancer is deadly but also highly preventable & Americans should not be deterred. Colonoscopy by a highly skilled gastroenterologist is still best & most trusted way to save lives. #CRCchat

A5: As an advocate I tell everyone the best screening test is the ONE THAT GETS DONE. The gold standard is a #colonoscopy but stool-based tests & new blood tests are used for screening too. If these latter ones are positive, you still need to get the colonoscopy #CRCchat #CRCSM
