We have just been advised the repair works at Cardington Lock are taking longer than initially anticipated and will now continue through tomorrow which means the lock will be closed again on Friday 24 May.

A shout out to our #MechanicalAndElectricalEngineering or #MAndE colleagues who turned around #CardingtonLock repairs on the #RiverGreatOuse. First boat through today with lock operating as normal. A bit more testing tomorrow AM & normal self service will resume notice2follow.

We locked through up to 50 boats today at #CardingtonLock on the #RiverGreatOuse. We’ll be back again tomorrow to get more river traffic through & put a plan of action together to get us to a point where normal service can be resumed.

First boat of the day being manually locked through #CardingtonLock in #Bedford on the #RiverGreatOuse. We’ll be there again today until at least 16:00 for anyone wanting to get through and we also have cover lined up for Monday when we’ll plan what’s going to happen from there.

Boats now being manually locked through at #CardingtonLock on the #RiverGreatOuse & damage caused by vandals. Staff currently on site 10:00 - 16:00 & maybe more if demand requires it but river traffic is moving once again. More updates will follow.
